Kendriya Vidyalaya Gooty

Kendriya Vidyalaya Gooty sits right along Sh 33. It’s out in the Anatapur district. Since it's on the state highway, you see a lot of trucks and cars passing by the front gate. The school has that typical look you see with these kinds of buildings. There is a big yard where the kids line up in the mornings. It can get very hot in Gooty, so everyone tries to stay indoors during the afternoon. The ground is a bit rocky and dry most of the year. We have rows of classrooms with windows that look out toward the road. You can hear the traffic sounds during the lessons sometimes. It’s a place where children from various families in the area come together. Some of them come from quite a distance. The building is painted in those standard colors. We have a few trees that we try to keep watered, but it’s tough in the heat. There’s a flagpole in the middle of the courtyard. The kids wear their uniforms every day. It feels like a very disciplined place but it’s also just a regular part of life for us in Anatapur. We have the usual stuff like benches and chalk. Nothing too modern, just what’s necessary. It’s been here a while and most people in the town know the location. The wind carries a lot of dust from the road into the corridors and we have to sweep a lot.
