Zen School

Our place is located on the Bakrol Vadtal Road in Vallabh Vidyanagar, which is a fairly quiet part of Anand. Zen School is a smallish building but it feels bigger once you are inside because of the high ceilings. We have a bit of garden space out front that some of us try to keep green, though the heat makes it tough in May. Every morning starts with the sound of the bell and then it’s just the usual school day. We have kids of different ages running around the hallways during the lunch break. It can get pretty loud when everyone is out at once. We don't really go for anything too flashy here. The classrooms have wooden desks and chairs that have been around for a few years. Sometimes the paint peels a little on the walls but we try to fix it up when we have the time during the summer break. The teachers here like to talk to the parents when they come to pick up their children, just to let them know how things are going. It’s a friendly kind of atmosphere where everyone knows each other. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the students understand their math and science. It’s just a normal school doing normal things day in and day out. We hope the kids remember their time here fondly once they grow up and move on. The gates stay open until all the children have gone home.
