Indian Dairy Machinery Company Ltd sits on Plot No. 124-128 in the GIDC Estate in Vithal. It is a fairly large area compared to some of the smaller workshops nearby. Being in a GIDC estate means we are surrounded by all kinds of factories making everything from plastics to chemicals. Our daily routine starts with the sound of the big shutters rolling up in the morning. We have several sections for different types of machinery and it can get quite loud once the welding and cutting starts. The guys on the floor have been with us for years and they know the machines inside out. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. If you come to visit, you usually end up talking to us right there on the shop floor with the smell of metal in the air. The plot is big enough that we can store some of the larger tanks outside while they wait to be loaded onto the trucks. Vithal is a bit far out for some people, but it is a good place for manufacturing because there is enough space to breathe. We have a small office tucked in the corner where the accounts are kept, but most of the action happens out where the tools are. It is steady work and we take pride in just getting the orders out on time.
