Makhan Fish & Chicken Corner

We’ve been here at 21-A, Majitha Road for a long time now. It’s a busy spot in Amritsar, especially being near Madaan Hospital. You can usually find us by the smell of the stove. We aren’t a fancy place with decorations. It’s just a corner where we cook fish and chicken. Most days are the same. We get fresh stuff in, prep it, and serve whoever walks in. Some people have been coming here since they were kids. Now they bring their own families. It gets crowded in the evenings when people are off work. We don't have a lot of space, but we make it work. The tables are simple and the chairs are just chairs. We don’t spend time on fancy flyers. We just focus on the food and the kitchen. The traffic on Majitha Road is heavy. Once you’re inside, it’s just about the meal. We don't do anything special for holidays. We stay open like usual. It’s hard work standing by the heat all day. If you’re looking for a polished dining room, this isn't it. It’s loud and there’s always something cooking. We just keep things moving and hope the food is what people want. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years but our spot stays mostly the same. We like it that way. It is just how things are for us here. I guess we will be here for many more years to come.
