G K Family Dhaba

G K Family Dhaba is located on Jalandhar Road in Majitha. We are right across from the Sant Petrol Pump at Adda Daburji. It’s a good place for a dhaba because so many trucks and cars pass by on their way in and out of Amritsar. We have a very basic setup with wooden tables and benches. My brothers and I run the place and we do most of the work ourselves. We start the tandoor early in the day and the smell of the charcoal is always around. It’s a loud spot because of the highway traffic but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. We don't have a printed menu or anything fancy like that. We just tell the customers what we cooked for the day, usually some dal, seasonal vegetables, and fresh rotis. The 143601 area is where we grew up, so we know most of the people who stop by regularly. It gets a bit dusty with all the vehicles going past, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the tables. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything. We just want to keep the food hot and make sure people leave with a full stomach. It's a simple life and a simple business. We've been here for a long time and we just keep doing what we know. If you are driving on Jalandhar Road, you can't miss the petrol pump and our place right there.
