D.S. Restaurant

We have been here on Batala Road for a good few years now. Our spot is right across from Celebration Mall, which brings in a lot of people wandering around on weekends. Mostly, it is just us working through the day to get the food out. The street outside is usually noisy with all the rickshaws and cars going by, but inside it stays a bit quieter. It is not a very big place, just a simple setup with tables we have had since the start. Some days the morning starts early with deliveries arriving at the door. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People mostly find us because they are in the neighborhood or finished shopping across the road. Amritsar can be a busy city, especially in this area. We see students, families, and workers coming in for a bite. My brother usually handles the counter and I stay near the kitchen. We had to fix the roof last year when the rain got bad. Small things like that keep us busy. It is hard work running a kitchen every day but we are used to the routine. We just keep doing what we know how to do without making a big fuss about it. The lights flicker sometimes when it's windy, but we just get on with it. It’s a lot of hours, but we are used to the grind now and then.
