The United Coir Factories

Located over in Komadi on A.S Road, our place is usually quite a mess with all the loose fiber flying around. We use P.O.Box. 2611 for our mail, though most things happen right here on the floor. It is a bit of a maze inside The United Coir Factories. You’ve got different sections for different parts of the process, and it can get pretty loud when the machines are all running at once. Most of us live nearby, so we just walk or cycle in early in the morning. The coffee man comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for a lot of the guys. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on getting the work done so we can go home. The roof leaks a little in the corner when the monsoon hits, but we just move the stuff out of the way. It’s an old building, and you can tell by the way the walls look, but it does the job. Dealing with the coir makes your hands rough after a while, but you get used to it. We don't have a big marketing team or anything, just a few people in the back office handling the paperwork and a lot of people out front doing the heavy lifting. It's just a regular local spot where work gets done.
