Hot Mats

Hot Mats is situated near the Vazhicherry Bridge, and we use the address P. B. No: 14,. Being so close to the bridge means we see a lot of water and a lot of traffic passing by every hour. It is a very lively spot to have a business. We have a warehouse that is getting a bit old now, but it still does the job of keeping the rain out. We make mats here and the smell of the raw materials is something you just get used to after a few days. It is mostly a family run thing. My uncle was the one who started it and now we are the ones who stay here running the place. We have a small office with a single window that looks out towards the bridge and the river. It is nice to watch the boats go by sometimes when we take a short break from the work. We do not have any big slogans or expensive advertisements. We just rely on the fact that we have been in this same spot for ages. The floor is made of concrete and it is a bit cracked in the corners near the door. We have an old telephone that rings very loudly when someone calls. Sometimes we miss the calls because we are in the back room where the machines are too loud to hear anything. We have a small cat that hangs around. We just try to get the orders finished on time.
