Fashion Coir

Fashion Coir is located at P.B.No. 2614, Mangalam Jn., Kanjiramchira,. We are right near the junction where the main roads meet up. It is a busy corner with lots of traffic. You can hear the big buses and the motorbikes going past all through the day. We started this place because there has always been a lot of coir work around here. It is a local tradition in this part of town. Our building is not very big but it fits all the tools and machines we need to get the job done. Sometimes the dust from the coconut fibers gets everywhere so we have to sweep the floors at least twice a day. My cousin helps me with the accounts and making sure the shipping is handled correctly. We do not have a big team of workers. Just a few local people from the nearby streets. We work from Monday to Saturday and we usually close up early on Sundays to rest. The air smells like the salt from the sea sometimes because we are not too far from the coast. Kanjiramchira is a nice area even though it gets very muddy when the monsoon rains come. We have a small radio in the corner that plays the local songs while we work. It keeps the mood light. We do not bother with big marketing plans or fancy ads. People around here just know our name from being around. We just want to keep making things the same way.
