Pooppally Coir Mills

Pooppally Coir Mills has been operating out of A.S. Road for a long time now. If you come by the office at Post Box No. 2623, you’ll mostly see us dealing with stacks of fiber and trying to keep the dust down. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we just keep at it. Most of the folks working here have been around for years, so we all know each other’s business maybe a bit too much. The trucks come and go all day, and sometimes the noise from the road makes it hard to hear anything else. We don’t really have any fancy office furniture or anything like that. It is just desks, old ledgers, and a lot of coir. Some days the weather isn't great, especially when it rains hard and the fiber gets damp, which is a real headache for everyone. We spend a lot of time checking the bundles and making sure things are tied up right. It isn’t glamorous work, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we sit outside for a tea break when the sun goes down a bit. We’ve seen the road change a lot over the years, more traffic and new buildings popping up, but our gate stays pretty much the same. People around here just know us as the place with all the brown husks piled up. It is just what we do here every day.
