We are located at Plot No. Rz 76 in Uttam Nagar East. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets near the metro station. The Nirankari Bhawan is right by us, so that’s the easiest way to tell people where we are. Dealing with food and beverages in a place like Delhi means you’re always on the move. There is never a quiet moment on this street. We have a small team here at Umashankar Food & Beverage. Most of the day is spent checking inventory and making sure the loaders don't mix up the crates. The dust from the main road gets into everything, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the shelves. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The office is just a corner partitioned off with some plywood. We have a small cooler for water which is a lifesaver in June. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so backed up that we can't even get our own bikes out. We just wait for the rush to die down and talk about the news or whatever else is going on. It’s a good group of people here. We don’t have big meetings or anything like that. We just see what needs doing and we do it. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. The local vendors know us by name now, and we like that.
