Cafe Coffee Day

This Cafe Coffee Day is the one over in East Punjabi Bagh, specifically at 9/29. It’s a busy little spot in this part of New Delhi. We get all sorts of people coming in throughout the day. Some are students trying to finish their work, others are just folks meeting up for a quick chat. It can get pretty loud in here when the espresso machine is going and everyone is talking at once. We spend a lot of time cleaning tables and making sure there are enough napkins for everyone. The smell of coffee is everywhere, which I don't mind, but it definitely stays on your clothes after a shift is over. We have some regulars who come in every single morning and order the exact same thing without even looking at the menu. It makes the job feel a bit more personal when you know people's names. The street outside is usually crowded with cars and people walking by. We have a few outdoor chairs, but most people prefer to sit inside where it's a bit cooler during the summer months. Working here is mostly about keeping up with the rush and trying not to burn yourself on the steam wand. It’s not a complicated life, just a lot of beans and milk and talking to strangers. We aren't trying to be anything more than a place where you can sit down for a bit.
