This particular spot is at 46-D in Sainik Enclave, which is a bit different from the big outlets you see in the malls. Being here in New Delhi, specifically in this enclave, means we see the same faces almost every single day. It is a local corner where people come to sit for a bit when they want to get away from the traffic outside. The staff here has been around for a while, and we know exactly how the regulars like their drinks. It isn't a massive place, but we have enough chairs and the air conditioning usually works well even when it is forty degrees outside. We spend a lot of time cleaning the tables and making sure the machines are running right. Sometimes the delivery trucks take a long time to get through the narrow streets of Sainik Enclave, so we have to manage with what we have on the shelves. It’s a very hands-on job. We don’t have any big corporate bosses sitting here; it is just us making sure things are okay for the visitors. The evening time is usually the busiest when people are coming home from work and want a quick break. We see students, families, and old folks from the neighborhood. It feels more like a small tea stall sometimes because of how well everyone knows each other, even if the sign outside says something else.
