Shivay Sugar & Spirits Private Limited is located at 132 Patel Nagar on Idgah Road. We share the space C/O Ram Gopal Singh, who keeps a close eye on everything. It is a straightforward kind of place. We deal mostly with sugar and different types of spirits, which means there is a lot of lifting and moving crates around. The office is just a simple desk covered in papers and a few old chairs for visitors. It gets quite hot in the summer because the sun hits the front of the building for most of the afternoon. We usually keep the main doors open to let some air in, even if it brings in the dust from the road. We don’t do any big advertising or have a marketing team. People in the trade know where we are and they just come to us when they need something. Sometimes the trucks are late because of the traffic on Idgah Road, so we sit around and drink tea while we wait. It is not a glamorous business. If something breaks, we usually just fix it ourselves with whatever tools are lying around. We’ve been at this Patel Nagar address for some time now and the locals are used to seeing us. We just show up every day, do the work that needs doing, and then head home once the shutters are down. It is just a regular local business run by regular people.
