Over in Vijayapura, right in the Bijapur-Karnataka area, you'll find Sarvajnya School. It’s situated in a part of town that has grown quite a bit recently. The school building is pretty straightforward, with plain walls and a flat roof. It gets very hot here in the summer, so we spend a lot of time making sure the water coolers are working and the fans are spinning. The school isn't anything fancy to look at, but it serves its purpose for the families living nearby. We have a mix of students from different backgrounds, and the classrooms are always full of noise and movement. The teachers here work hard, often carrying stacks of papers home to grade at night. We don’t have a lot of extra staff, so everyone chips in with the cleaning and organizing. The playground is mostly dirt, but that doesn't stop the kids from playing cricket every chance they get. We try to follow the curriculum as best as we can, even when things get a bit chaotic with the schedule. It’s a practical environment. We don't put on a lot of shows or big events; we just focus on the daily lessons. Sometimes the school gate needs a new coat of paint or the front steps get chipped, but we fix those things when we can afford to. It’s a place where work gets done and kids get their education without any unnecessary fuss. Most of us have been working here for years.
