Lok Kalyan School

Lok Kalyan School is located in the Bijapur area of Karnataka. We are right near the main post office, so it is a fairly easy place to find. This part of the state can get really hot, especially in the afternoons, so we try to get the most important lessons done early in the day. The school isn't very big, but we have a good number of students from the local families. We focus on the basics like reading, writing, and math. Our staff is made up of people who live nearby and care about the kids. We don't use a lot of fancy technology here; mostly it is just blackboards and textbooks. The benches in the classrooms have seen better days, but they serve their purpose for the lessons. We have a small playground, though it’s mostly just dirt. The kids don’t seem to mind when they are playing football or tag during their break. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with, especially when new admissions start in the summer. It’s just a few of us in the office trying to keep things organized. Parents come in often to pay fees or talk about their children's grades. We try to be helpful and listen to what they have to say about their kids' futures. It is a humble place, and we are just trying to do our part for the community here in Bijapur. It is hard work sometimes, but we are used to it.
