About Padmavati Fabrication – Metals & Minerals in Vapi
Our workshop is located in the IV Phase of GIDC, at unit C1/6028. It’s a typical industrial spot where the main thing you see is metal and the main thing you hear is the sound of grinders and welding machines. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. Instead, we have a big open shed where the air moves through and the sun beats down on the metal roof. It can get very hot in there, especially in the middle of the day. We spend most of our time wearing heavy gloves and safety gear, working on various fabrication jobs. There are stacks of steel pipes and plates all over the place, and we have to be careful where we step. It’s a bit messy, but that’s the nature of fabrication work. You can’t really keep a place like this perfectly clean when there are sparks flying everywhere. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the background to keep things lively. The road outside is unpaved and gets quite muddy when it rains, making it a bit of a chore for the trucks to get in. We don’t have a secretary or anyone to answer the door; usually, one of us just wipes the sweat off our forehead and goes to see who it is. We’ve been in this part of GIDC for a long time and we know most of the other workshop owners around us. It’s a tough, honest way to make a living.
