About Hariom Steel Furniture – Metals & Minerals in Vapi
Our workshop is at Plot No. 717 in the 40 Shed Area of the G.I.D.C. Estate in Vapi. We go by Hariom Steel Furniture. The shed area is exactly what it sounds like—a lot of metal buildings where people are busy making things. We have a lot of steel pipes and sheets lying around the yard. Most days are spent cutting, bending, and welding. You can hear the sound of the grinders from the street. It’s a bit of a messy place, with sparks flying and the smell of paint in the air when we are finishing a piece. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we are making, you just walk into the shed and look at the items sitting on the floor. The office is just a small wooden desk tucked into a corner under a mezzanine. We keep the ledger there and a phone that rings quite a lot. The floor is usually covered in a bit of metal dust, so we wear thick boots. It’s a tough environment, but it’s honest work. We have been in Vapi G.I.D.C. for quite some time now. People around here know us as the place that’s always got a pile of chairs or cupboards being loaded onto a tempo. It’s not a quiet job, but we like the pace of it and the people we work with every day.
