Puransinghs Khana Khajana

We set up Puransinghs Khana Khajana on Road No 5 because the Race Course area felt like it needed a spot for some heavy, filling food. It is definitely not a quiet or calm place to be. The kitchen stays noisy from morning until we close with the sound of pans hitting the burners. We just cook the dishes we know how to make. Mostly it is just big portions that are meant to fill you up for the whole day. We see a lot of people from J P Nagar coming in during their lunch breaks. The menu is just written on a simple board near the entrance. Sometimes we end up running out of the daily special before one o'clock even rolls around. We do not have any fancy chairs or decorations, just some sturdy wooden ones that can handle a lot of people coming and going. The staff is just a small group of us who have worked together for a long time. We know exactly how the regular customers like their rotis and how much spice they can handle. It gets a bit cramped inside when it starts to rain because everyone tries to squeeze in at once. We put out plenty of raw onions and cut lemons on every table. Cleaning the grease off everything at night takes us a long time. We just want the food to taste like something you would get in a normal home kitchen. There are no secrets here.
