Cafe Chakhhde

You can find Cafe Chakhhde at D-33, Shiv Darshan on Sabari School Street, right off Vasna Road in Vadodara. We are near the Ruturaj Complex in the 390007 area. It’s a neighborhood spot, mostly. We don't do anything too fancy here. Most of our work involves the usual stuff you’d expect, like prepping the vegetables and making sure the supplies are tucked away in the pantry. The street outside can get a bit busy when the school nearby lets out, so we usually have a rush around that time. We spend a lot of our afternoon just keeping the tables clean and making sure the trash is taken out. It is just a few of us working here, and we’ve been doing this for a while now. The kitchen is small, so we have to stay organized or things get messy really fast. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do. We just make the food and serve it to the people who walk in. Sometimes we have to deal with a broken appliance or a late delivery, which is just part of the job. It is a very normal, local business. We keep the lights on, keep the place clean, and try to make sure we have enough change in the drawer for the day’s customers. It’s just simple work for us. We mostly focus on getting through the list of things to do before we close up for the night.
