About Maison De Salad – Food & Beverages in Vadodara
We set up shop at Vadsar 89 because we wanted to do something a bit different with food. It’s mostly just chopping vegetables and mixing dressings all day. None of us went to fancy cooking schools; we just like fresh ingredients and putting them together in bowls. The kitchen is always full of crates of lettuce and tomatoes. It can get messy when we are in the middle of a lunch rush, but we try to keep things moving. We don't have a big menu because we prefer to focus on a few things we can actually do well. Some people think salads are boring, but we see plenty of folks coming in every day. The space in Vadsar is simple, with just enough room for us to work and a few spots for people to wait. We don't spend money on big ads. Most people find us just by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. We have our bad days where the produce delivery doesn't look great, and we have to send it back. That’s just part of running a food place. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure the cucumbers are crisp and the greens are washed properly. It’s a lot of manual work, but we like the routine of it. We keep the doors open and just do our best with what we have. It is just food at the end of the day.
