At Jay Narayan Multi Cuisine Restaurant on Vadsar Gill Road, we try to serve a bit of everything for the neighborhood. We have North Indian dishes, some Chinese items, and the usual local stuff that people like. The kitchen is actually bigger than the seating area because we do a lot of parcels for people living in the nearby flats. It’s a bit of a squeeze when a big family comes in on a Sunday night and we have to move tables around. The lighting isn't great, just a few basic tube lights, but the food is what matters to us at the end of the day. We buy the vegetables fresh from the local market every single morning. The cook has been with us since we opened here on Vadsar Gill Road, and he knows how people in this area like their spices. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when the phone keeps ringing for home deliveries and we only have two boys to run them out. We don't have fancy uniforms, just clean aprons for the staff. The menu is a bit dog-eared and stained from people flipping through it with oily fingers. We aren't looking to win any big awards, we just want to make sure the dhal is hot and the rotis are soft for every customer. Some people complain about the parking out front because the road is narrow, but we can't do much about that.
