Ghar Ka Dabba

We operate out of our home at 18/103, Mayura Park Apartment in Laxmi Nagar Society. The idea behind Ghar Ka Dabba was simple: we wanted to provide the kind of food we eat ourselves to people living nearby who don't have time to cook. Being on Laxmipura Road, we see a lot of office workers and students who are tired of eating out every day. We don't have a big staff or a commercial kitchen. It’s just us cooking in our own kitchen, using the same spices and oil we use for our family. Every morning and evening, we pack up these dabbas and get them ready for delivery or pickup. We don't have a set menu that stays the same for months. We cook whatever is fresh in the market that day. It keeps things interesting for our regulars. Sometimes we run a bit behind if a particular dish takes longer to simmer, but we always make sure it’s cooked right. We don't use preservatives or anything like that. It’s just honest, home-cooked food. People often come to Mayura Park to pick up their meals and we end up talking for a bit. It’s a small, quiet business and that’s how we like it. We focus on the taste and the feeling of a home meal, nothing more and nothing less. We just want to make sure you get a hot meal that reminds you of home.
