Bhai Bhai Dabeli

Bhai Bhai Dabeli is located at Shop No G 8 on R C Dutt Road. It is not a huge place, just a regular shop where we focus on making dabeli every day. The morning starts with boiling potatoes and mashing them up with our own spice mix. We spend a lot of time at the small counter, slicing the buns and stuffing them. R C Dutt Road gets very busy with traffic and people walking by, so there is always noise coming from the street. We have a small bench outside where people can sit if they want to, but most just stand around or take their food to go. My brother and I started this because we liked the idea of having our own little corner. We don't have a fancy menu with a hundred items. We just do what we know. The pomegranate seeds and the peanuts are always sitting in little bowls ready to be sprinkled on. Sometimes the stove acts up or we run out of change, and we have to run to the next shop to swap a note. It is just a normal daily struggle of running a small food stall. We don't put on any acts for the customers. If it's a hot day, we are all sweating. If it's raining, we're trying to keep the water out. It is honest work and it keeps us connected to the neighborhood.
