Mazbat Pragatee is based out of the Chutiaparachamuagaon area, right near the Namghor in Orang. We operate out of Jatin Deka’s place. It is a quiet spot, but there is always something going on with the bamboo. Most of us living around here have been growing bamboo for as long as we can remember, so forming this company felt like a natural step for the local farmers. We are not some big corporate entity from the city. We are just a group of neighbors trying to make the most of what grows in our backyards and fields. Every morning, you’ll see someone stopping by the office to talk about the latest harvest or to ask about where the next batch is going. We spend a lot of time walking the paths and looking at the quality of the poles. Dealing with the weather is our biggest challenge, especially when the rains make the roads near the Namghor hard to navigate with a full load. We just do the work that needs doing, from stacking the raw bamboo to figuring out the logistics of getting it to the buyers. It’s honest, tiring work, but it keeps the community connected. We don't use any fancy systems here. It is mostly just notebooks, phone calls, and handshakes. We are just trying to keep the tradition of bamboo farming alive and profitable for the families living around Orang and Chutiaparachamuagaon.
