Udalguri has always been a place where farming is the main thing everyone does. We got together as a group because we realized that doing things separately was just too much work for too little gain. This part of Darrang has good soil, but you still have to put in the hours. We do not have a fancy marketing team or a big glass building. Most of our meetings happen under the shade of a tree or on someone's porch in the evening. We talk about the crops, the pests, and who is buying what this season. It is practical stuff. Sometimes we disagree on things, but that is just how it goes when you have a lot of farmers in one room. The idea is just to help each other out with seeds and getting our stuff to the market. We do not make big promises. We just try to get the work done. The village is small, so everyone knows whose tractor is whose and who is planting what. It is a community effort more than anything else. We are just a bunch of people from Borigaon trying to make a living off the land, one harvest at a time. It is not always easy, but it is our life.
