Sundaram Cards & Gifts

We are situated at 112 Bapu Bazar, right across from Ramesh Book store. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows the book shop. We specialize in cards—birthday cards, wedding cards, anniversary cards, you name it. We also have a lot of gift items. The card racks take up most of one wall. They are organized by occasion, but sometimes people put them back in the wrong slots, so you have to look around a bit. It’s a cozy shop, maybe a bit too cozy when more than five people are inside. We have fluorescent lights that hum a little, but you get used to it. The floor is old tile that’s seen better days, but it’s clean. I spend a lot of time helping people pick out the right words in a card. Some people take forever to choose, and that’s fine. We have some stools if your legs get tired. The gifts we sell are mostly practical things, though we have some shiny decor items too. Being in Bapu Bazar means there’s never a dull moment. We see all kinds of people every day. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. If you need a card for a special day, we probably have something that fits, even if it’s tucked away in a corner. We just keep the shelves full and the door open for anyone passing by the book store.
