Our shop is located up on the first floor at 12, Naya Sarafa Bazar, right near the busy Mukherji Chowk. Because we are on the first floor, people have to walk up a set of stairs, so we aren't always the very first place they notice when they walk through the market. We handle a bit of a mix here, with various gift items on one side and some basic electronic goods on the other. It might seem like a strange combination to some, but it’s what people in this specific area seem to ask for the most. Sarafa Bazar is mostly known for its gold and silver jewelry shops, so we are a little different from most of our neighbors. The space we have is okay, just enough to keep our stock and have a small counter where we can talk to customers. We’ve been in this spot for several years and we know the other shopkeepers around the chowk quite well. Sometimes the stairs are a bit steep for the older folks who come by, so we try to help them out if they are carrying heavy bags. It’s definitely not a shiny new store; it’s just a practical, honest place where we do our daily business. We don't spend any money on big signs or bright advertisements. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for a long time. We stay open until late because the market is always active well into the evening hours.
