Giftnawazi

Giftnawazi is right on the 187 Bhopalpura Main Road in Udaipur. If you are familiar with the Bhopalpura Main Road area, you know it is a pretty active street with a lot going on. We set up shop here because it’s easy for people to find us when they are out running errands. We sell different kinds of gifts, and the shop is usually filled with boxes and wrapping paper. It’s not always the most organized place, especially during the holiday seasons or when there are a lot of weddings happening in town. We spend a lot of our time cutting paper and trying to find the right size boxes for things. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of ribbon and have to scramble to get more. The shop isn't huge, so when three or four people come in at once, it feels very crowded. My sister helps me out most days, and we take turns handling the counter. We get a lot of students and families from the neighborhood. It is nice seeing people pick out something special for someone else. We don't have a big corporate strategy or anything; we just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. The traffic on the main road can be quite loud, but you get used to it after a while. We’ve been at this location for a bit now and it feels like home. Udaipur is a great city to work in.
