Sharma Handicrafts is found on Lake Palace Road, specifically tucked behind Rang Niwas. This part of the road is a little different from the main market because it feels a bit more tucked away. We are close to the hotels and the palaces, so the surroundings are quite nice and usually well-kept. Our shop is a simple building where we keep all our handicraft items. Being behind Rang Niwas means we get a bit of shade in the mornings, which is helpful during the summer. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that. People usually find us by looking for the landmarks. It’s a bit quieter back here, so you don’t get as much of the heavy traffic noise as you do in the center of town. We spend our time checking the stock and talking to the people who wander in after seeing the palaces nearby. The floors are stone and stay cool, which is lucky for us when it gets hot outside. We keep a few chairs outside for when we want to take a break and watch the birds in the trees. It’s a steady kind of work. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't; we just run the shop and manage the inventory as it comes and goes. The address is easy once you know the Rang Niwas area. It’s just a regular life for us here at Sharma Handicrafts.
