Queen Saree & Art

We are located on City Palace Road, which is always busy with people walking up and down. Queen Saree & Art is the name on the board, though we just call it the shop. We have a mix of things here, mostly sarees but also some local art pieces that we pick up. The place is a bit of a jumble. You might find a nice silk saree right next to a small painting. We don't have a very strict way of organizing things. It just kind of works out. The tourists often stop by, but we have plenty of local customers too who have lived here forever. The building is old, so the walls have some cracks and the paint is peeling in places, but it gives the place some character, I think. We spend a lot of our time just talking to whoever comes in. Sometimes they buy something, sometimes they don't. That’s just part of the business. My daughter helps with the art side of things because she has a better eye for it than I do. We keep the door open to let the breeze in, even if it brings in a bit of dust from the road. It’s a good spot to sit and watch the world go by when things are quiet. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop on the road, just a steady one.
