Shri Laxmi Grenites

Our place, Shri Laxmi Grenites, is located at 12/78 in Sathyamangala. We are right on the Nh 4 service road, so we see thousands of trucks and cars zooming by every day. It gets very dusty here because of the highway, but that is just part of the job. I usually get to the yard early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. We have rows and rows of granite slabs lined up in the open space. Most of them come from the nearby quarries. It is a family thing, really. My brother helps with the accounts and I look after the loading and unloading. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. If you come here, you are going to get some dust on your shoes. We usually have a big water tank to wash the slabs so people can see the real patterns in the stone. Sometimes we sit under the shade of the small tin roof and eat our lunch while the wind blows the smell of diesel from the service road. It is a simple life and the work is tough on the back. We don't do much advertising; people just see our sign from the highway and pull over if they need stone for their porch or kitchen. It is just honest work and we try to keep the prices fair for the people around here.
