Ah Granites

Our yard is located at Plot 39 - B in the Hirehally Industrial Area. It is a bit of a trek to get out here, but once you are in the industrial area, you can’t miss all the stone businesses. We specialize in granites, so our whole world is basically large blocks and polished slabs. The plot isn't huge, but we make the most of the space we have. We keep the different types of granite stacked up so we can find them when someone asks. The weather out here in Hirehally can be pretty dry, which means there is a lot of dust blowing around from the other plots nearby. We spend a good chunk of our time just moving things from one side of the yard to the other using the crane. It’s a repetitive job but it keeps us busy. We don’t have a big staff, just a few people who know how to handle the stone without breaking it. Sometimes we sit in the small office area and have tea while waiting for the next truck to arrive. There is no marketing team here, just us and the stone. We like the fact that the work is physical and you can see what you have done at the end of the shift. It’s just a regular granite yard doing its thing in a quiet corner of the industrial estate.
