Agasthiya Tex

You can find Agasthiya Tex at No. 709 in the Shiv Complex. We are right on Pn Road, directly opposite the Shanthi Theatre. It’s a busy spot, especially when a new movie is playing and the crowds gather outside. Our space in the complex is a bit cramped because we try to fit as much fabric in as possible. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes we have to climb a shaky ladder to get a specific roll down. It’s mostly just a few of us working here. We handle the orders as they come in, mostly by phone or people walking in. The floor is covered in scraps of thread and small pieces of cloth. We try to sweep it once a day but it never stays clean for long. The air is thick with the smell of new textiles. Being opposite the Shanthi Theatre means we see all the posters for the upcoming films. Sometimes we get distracted watching the people line up for the late show. The Shiv Complex itself is a bit of a labyrinth, and we often have to give directions to people looking for other shops. We don't do any fancy marketing. Most people find us because they’re already in the area. Our scissors are always getting dull, so we have a guy who comes by to sharpen them. We just try to keep the stock moving.
