Mame Home Foods

You can find us at 15 B on Musiri Road, right in the T Pet area. This part of town is called Attar Mohalla, and it has its own rhythm. We are quite close to Mohan Shoppe, which is where most people go for their bits and pieces. We call ourselves Mame Home Foods because that is what it feels like—cooking like you would at home but on a slightly bigger scale. The kitchen is the heart of our place. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just a few of us in a space that used to be a regular house, I think. We spend the day preparing ingredients and cooking up things that people in the neighborhood like to eat. The smells from our kitchen often drift down the street. It’s a small operation. We don't use big industrial machines; it’s more about using pots and pans and doing things by hand. Sometimes we run out of things early and have to tell people to come back tomorrow. The street can be narrow, so when the delivery rickshaw comes, it blocks the way for a bit. It’s a friendly place, though. People know us by name, and we know who likes their food a certain way. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, right here in the Mohalla.
