Ammachi Samayal

Ammachi Samayal is located on Vayalur Main Road in the Puthur area of Trichy. We are right in Bharathi Nagar. The shop is small and we mostly focus on traditional home-style cooking. It is the kind of food we grew up with at home, so that is what we make for others. We don't have a big team, it is mostly family members helping out each day. The kitchen is the main part of our space and we take it seriously. We spend the morning grinding spices and cleaning the rice before we start the stove. There are no fancy machines here, we do a lot of it by hand because that is how it was always done. The road outside is usually quite busy with commuters going back and forth. People stop by on their way home to pick up something to eat for dinner. We don't have much in the way of seating, so a lot of our business is just people coming in and out quickly with their parcels. We try to keep the prices fair so anyone can afford a meal. The walls are plain and the lighting is just enough to see what we are doing. We aren't trying to be a big brand or anything like that. We just like the routine of opening up every morning and seeing our neighbors. If you are near Puthur, you can find us easily on the main road. It is just a practical place.
