7 Eleven Fried Chicken

The shop is at No 11 on Karuru Byepass Road in Trichy. We are right behind Kalaignar Arivalayam, which is a landmark most people around here know. If you are coming from the railway station, we are just a short walk or a quick rickshaw ride away. Being near Surya Hospital means we see people from all walks of life. Some are just passing through the station and others are locals living in the neighborhood. We focus on fried chicken. It is a small place and we don't have a lot of fancy furniture. We just have some tables and chairs for people who want to eat quickly. The bypass road is usually quite loud with buses and lorries going by. We start our day early to get the kitchen ready. We buy our chicken and spices from the local markets every morning. It is a lot of work to keep things moving when the station gets busy. We don't use any complicated machines. We just fry the chicken in batches so it stays as fresh as we can manage. My cousin and I run the counter and the kitchen. We are not a big chain. We are just a local spot. Sometimes we run out of certain pieces if a big group comes in late. The humidity in Trichy can be tough but we keep the fans on full blast for the customers. It is a simple life here.
