We've been here on Nandhi Kovil Street for quite a while now. Most people around Teppakulam know where to find us since the shop sits right in the thick of things. It's usually pretty busy outside with all the traffic and people heading toward the temple, so there is never a quiet moment really. We open up early every day and start getting things ready for whoever walks through the door first. It’s not a fancy place or anything like that, just a regular shop where we try to keep things running smooth. My brother and I handle most of the work ourselves, from checking the stock to talking with the regulars who stop by just to say hello. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. We have all sorts of things on the shelves, and we try to keep stuff that the local families actually need for their homes. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and cleaning up, but it’s what we do. We don’t really do much advertising because most folks just know us by name or see the sign when they walk past. It’s a simple life here in this part of town, and we like being a part of the neighborhood. Nothing stays the same forever, but Nandhi Kovil Street always feels like home to us. We’re just here working every day.
