Happy Food Products

You can find us over at number 1 on V O C Street in Ariyamangalam. We call it Happy Food Products, though most people just know us as the food place on the corner. It’s a small operation where we handle everything ourselves. We start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool, getting the machines ready and checking the ingredients. Ariyamangalam has a lot of little businesses like ours, so we feel right at home on this street. The building is an older one, but it stays relatively cool inside even when the sun is beating down on V O C Street. We spend most of our time packing and sealing, making sure everything is done right. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we don't mind it. We usually have a bit of a lunch break together in the back room where it's quiet. Sometimes a neighbor drops by to chat for a minute, which slows us down, but we like the company. We don't have any fancy brochures or big signs. We just focus on getting the food out to the shops that need it. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us on our feet and we like the work we do. Every day is pretty much the same, but that’s okay with us. We just keep the floors swept and the boxes stacked until it's time to head home.
