Ashokumar Food

Our place is right by Santhosh Theatre in the Kumarasamy Pettai area of Thennavaram. It is a great spot because whenever a movie finishes, a whole crowd of people comes pouring out and looking for something to eat. Ashokumar Food is a simple setup, nothing like the big restaurants you see in the city. We have a small kitchen area and some tables that have seen better days, but they do the job. My wife and I run the place with a little help from a boy in the neighborhood. We spend most of our time prepping vegetables and making sure the stove is ready for the rush. It gets really hot in there, especially in the evenings, but you get used to it after a few years. We do not have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just cook what we know and hope people enjoy it enough to come back next time they see a film. The noise from the theatre speakers sometimes vibrates through the walls, which can be a bit much, but it tells us when the movie is almost over. We have lived in Thennavaram all our lives, so we know most of the families around Kumarasamy Pettai. It is just a normal life, working hard and making sure the bills are paid at the end of the month. We keep things honest and just keep going.
