Out here in Orathanadu, we are right in the heart of things. Our office is at No.3/590 on Arsuthiyar Street. Thanjavur is known for its farming and we are right in the middle of that tradition. This company was formed by a bunch of local farmers who wanted to have a bit more control over their own lives. It’s not a fancy setup. We have a small desk and some files, and usually, there’s a few of us sitting around discussing the latest crop yields. The weather is always a big topic of conversation here. Sometimes there's too much water and sometimes not enough. We try to coordinate between the different members so everyone knows what's happening. It’s a community thing more than a corporate thing. We don't have a big mission statement written on the wall. We just want to make sure the farmers get paid properly for what they grow. Dealing with the markets can be tough if you're doing it alone. So we stay here on Arsuthiyar Street and try to manage the logistics. It's a lot of phone calls and ledger books. We’ve been part of this village for a long time. People know our names and where we live. That makes the business side of things feel more personal. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day. It's not glamorous but it's our life. Thanjavur has a long history of this. We are just the latest generation trying to keep it going. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we share it together.
