Over in Pudur, specifically on North Street, is where we keep our main office. It’s No.149. This is Thanjavur country, so you know farming is in everyone's blood here. Thirunadu is a collective we put together because we were tired of struggling on our own. Orathanadu is a good place to be, but the markets can be tough. We try to group our harvests together so we have more of a say in things. It's not always smooth sailing. We have plenty of disagreements about which crops to focus on or when to sell. But that's part of being a collective. The office is usually a mess of sample bags and receipts. Someone is always drinking tea and talking about the water levels in the canals. We know the land here really well because we’ve walked every inch of it. The weather is our biggest boss. We just do what we can to prepare. Most of us have been doing this for decades, following what our fathers did. This company is just a modern way of doing the same old thing. We keep it practical and don't make big promises. We just work the fields and hope the price stays fair. It’s a lot of sweat and a lot of waiting. But it's what we do. We’re just a bunch of farmers from Pudur trying to get by and keep our families fed.
