Our place is at 123, Moopanar Street in Nagathi. We call ourselves Nelvayal 10K Farmer Producer Company Limited, which is a bit of a mouthful, but it basically means we are a bunch of farmers from around Thiruvaiyaaru-Thaluka working together. This part of the country is known for its fields, and we are right in the middle of it. We don't have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything. It's just a simple building where we meet to talk about seeds, prices, and the weather. The rains are always on our minds. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so we know the ground pretty well. We started this group because it made sense to handle things as a collective rather than everyone struggling on their own. It’s not always smooth sailing; sometimes we argue about the right way to do things, but we usually figure it out over some tea. The address on Moopanar Street is where we keep our records and some of the supplies. It’s a local operation, run by people who actually get their hands dirty in the soil. We don’t have much use for fancy talk or big promises. We just want to make sure the rice grows well and that the farmers here get a fair deal for their hard work. It's a quiet life, but it's ours, and we stick together through the bad seasons and the good ones.
