We're located at 118/2, right behind the Venkateshwara Petrol Bunk on Pudukkottai Road. It’s a handy spot because everyone knows where the bunk is. Karambai Farmer Producer Company Limited is a group of local farmers from this area. We chose this place because it’s easy to get to when you’re moving produce. The office is nothing fancy, just a few desks and a place to store our stuff. There’s usually a bit of dust and the smell of diesel in the air, but we don’t mind it. We spend most of our days talking about crop yields and what we need for the next planting season. It’s not a polished business with a lot of rules. We just do what makes sense for us and our members. Most of the day is spent on the phone or talking to people who drop in to see how things are going. We don’t have any marketing materials or big signs. If you know where the petrol bunk is, you can find us easily. It’s a simple way of working together. We all know the struggle of farming, so we try to keep things as straightforward as possible. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, but we eventually get through it. We’re just local people trying to make the most of what we grow here. The building gets hot in the afternoons. We usually leave the door open to get a breeze.
