Over in Nadukkavery, you’ll find us at 403, Keela Nattar Street. It’s a busy little area, and our place is right in the middle of it. Thiruvaiyaru Kalanjia Jeevidam 10K Producer Company Limited is a name that sounds big, but we are just local folks working together. We focus on what the local producers are growing and making. It’s a lot of coordination. Usually, there are people coming in and out all day asking questions or dropping things off. We have a small desk and a few stools for visitors. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside. We don't bother with corporate polish or fancy language. We just speak plain and get to the point. Most of the time is spent checking the quality of the goods. If the harvest is good, everyone is happy. If not, we have to figure out a plan. We use a lot of paper for our records because the computer isn't always reliable. The street outside is narrow, so parking is always a headache. We usually just walk or use cycles to get around. It’s a community effort here. We’ve been part of this street for a long time now. We just want to make sure the producers get what they deserve for their hard work. It’s a lot of effort but it feels right to be doing this for the neighborhood and the local economy.
