Bramma Rishi Women Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are over here in Esanai Village. It’s a quiet place, mostly just farms and houses like ours at No.6/164. A bunch of us women decided to start this company because we were all doing the same work separately. It didn't make much sense to keep going like that. Now we handle things together. Most days start early before the sun gets too high. We deal with the crops and see what needs doing. It is not always easy. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when we need it, or the market prices are just bad. We sit around under the trees and talk about what to plant next. People know where to find us. Just come down to the post office area and ask for the women's group. We aren't a big office with shiny desks. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes talking about seeds and soil. We take care of the paperwork at the house. It's a lot of writing things down in ledgers. We just want to make sure our families are okay and the land stays good. It’s just how life is here in the village. We’ve known each other since we were kids, so working together feels natural. No one is the boss really, we just all do our part to keep the company moving. It's a lot of hard work but it's ours.
