Yashoda Sarees

We are located at Shop No. 143 in the Parking Project area of the Surat Textile Market on Ring Road. It’s a very specific part of the market, and if you are not familiar with the layout, it can be a bit confusing at first. Yashoda Sarees is where I spend most of my time. We deal mainly in sarees, as you can tell by the name. The shop is filled with stacks and stacks of different fabrics in all sorts of colors. We don't have many fancy mannequins or bright lights. Most of our sarees are kept in plastic covers on the shelves to keep them clean from the dust. Ring Road is always busy, and the textile market is even busier. There are people moving carts and bales of cloth everywhere you look. It’s a bit chaotic, but that’s the way it’s always been here. I usually have a helper who assists with showing the sarees to customers. It takes a lot of time to unfold them and then fold them back up properly. My hands are usually tired by the end of the day from all that fabric. We’ve been part of this market for a long time. We’ve seen it grow and change. We don't have any big plans, just to keep the shop running and serve the people who come through the door. It’s a straightforward business, no frills or extras. Just sarees and hard work. That is our life here in the market.
