Vimal Garment

Vimal Garment is located in the Parsi Compound, right near the Nal Bus Stop and Maruti Mandir in Surat. It’s a very active spot because of the bus stop, so there’s a constant stream of people walking past our front door. We sell a variety of garments, mostly stuff for everyday wear. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we stack the shirts and trousers. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get more than four or five people inside at once. We spend a lot of time just keeping things tidy because things get messy quickly when people are looking for their size. Being near Maruti Mandir, we see a lot of people who are out for their daily prayers or just running errands. The humidity in Surat can be tough, especially in the summer, so we keep the doors open to get whatever breeze we can. We’ve been here for several years now, and the neighbors are all very familiar. We don't have any big marketing plans or fancy logos. We just put the clothes out and wait for people to come in. Most of the time, we are just sitting on our stools chatting with whoever stops by. It’s a simple way to earn a living, and we like being right in the middle of all the action near the bus stop.
