Verai Textile

We are situated at 230 on the first floor of Arvind Estate. That’s on LB Shastri Road, right near the Ring Road. Being on the first floor is better than being on the top floor during the summer, though it's still pretty warm. We deal with textiles like most people in this neighborhood. The estate is always busy with people carrying heavy loads up and down the stairs. Our space is filled with stacks of cloth that reach almost to the ceiling. We have to be careful how we stack them so they don't fall over. It’s just three of us mostly, handling the orders and making sure the counts are right. We use a lot of old notebooks to keep track of things because the computer acts up sometimes. The lighting isn't the best, so we try to get the color matching done near the windows during the morning. There’s a small shop downstairs that makes good tea, which is where we go when things get too hectic. We aren't trying to be the biggest place on the road, just a steady one. Most of our days are spent folding, packing, and talking to the transporters who come to pick up the goods for delivery. It’s just a regular textile office where the work never really stops until the lights go out. We do what we can with the space we have.
