You can find V D Sarees on the second floor of the Textile Tower over on Ring Road. Being at shop 2029 means we are right in the middle of all the chaos that Surat’s textile market is famous for. Every morning is a rush of tea sellers, laborers carrying heavy bundles, and shopkeepers opening their shutters. We spend a lot of our time folding and unfolding sarees because people want to see how the fabric drapes before they decide. It’s a lot of physical work, and by the end of the day, our backs usually ache. The light in the tower isn't always the best, so we often take pieces near the windows to show the real colors. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and we’ve seen shops around us change hands many times. We stay consistent by just showing up and doing the work. It’s not always easy dealing with the heat and the crowds, but the Ring Road has its own energy that keeps you going. We carry a lot of different styles, from simple ones for home use to the heavier stuff for weddings. We don't really have a big staff, so whoever is available helps the customers. It's a straightforward business where what you see is what you get. We just want to keep the shop running smoothly and serve the people who find their way to our floor.
